Mexican Chocolate…om nom nom nom

This is my recipe for Mexican Chocolate. I have tweaked it a little from the one that was given to me…Enjoy!


1/4 cup Milk

3/4 cup Water

1 Tbsp. chocolate syrup

3 Tbsp. cocoa (such as Swiss Miss)

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1 pinch chili powder


Combine milk, water, and chocolate sauce in small saucepan, bring to a gentle boil. Stir in the powdered cocoa, cinnamon, and chili powder. Boil for 1 minute, reduce heat, and let it simmer for 1 minute. Serve. Makes 1 serving.


You may find it easier to use liquid cinnamon flavoring as opposed to the powdered spice.

To make it extra-yummy, top it with whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkles. Better yet, make your own whipped cream from heavy whipping cream.

Make more than 1 cup. I have found that once some tastes it, they have to have a cup as well. 😉
